Contact source is a system field in FunnelBud Flow that indicates where the lead came from. By default, the system will assign the first conversion point as the Contact Source. This includes forms, booking widget, chat widget. You can also update the Contact Source manually if you know where the lead came from.
However, it’s often more useful for marketing managers to understand the different sources that are generating leads. This solution will address that but automatically assigning the first touch attribution source as the Contact Source. Standard first touch attribution sources include Google Search, Bing Search, Google ads, Direct Traffic, etc. Additionally, this solution will also enable you to assign custom campaign sources.

How to assign a custom contact source:
- Add a hidden custom field to the form where the lead will convert.
- Enter the marketing campaign name as default value of the field. For example: “Google Ads: HubSpot alt”
